Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.19% on Thursday compared to the previous day to reach 857,849 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 15.00 local time, reaching 40,197 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,696 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 864,043 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 0.21% increase from Wednesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 31.1% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectricity plants comprised 19.2%, while imported coal power plants held a 12.9% share.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 12,365 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 6,511 megawatt-hours.
