Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.12% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 866,515 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,947 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,738 megawatt-hours at 04.00 local time (0100 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 869,743 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 0.07% drop increase Thursday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 44.8% of total electricity consumption and lignite plants contributed 13.5% while imported coal plants comprised 9.75%.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 14,625 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 11,467 megawatt-hours.
