Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.06% on Thursday compared to the previous day to reach 902,810 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 42,327 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,198 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 908,504 megawatt-hours on Thursday marking an 0.07% decrease compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 31.59% of total electricity consumption on Thursday, hydro power plants held a 23.36% share while imported coal plants comprised 22.18%.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,012 megawatt-hours while imports reached 318 megawatt-hours.
