Turkey's daily power consumption up 0.06% on Dec. 23

- Electricity exports amount to 12,735 megawatt-hours while imports total 83 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.06% on Wednesday compared to the previous day to reach 900,705 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time, reaching 43,787 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,464 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 913,357 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, with no change from Tuesday.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 36.32% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 21.24% share while hydro plants comprised 16.47%.

On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 12,735 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 83 megawatt-hours.
