Turkey's daily power consumption down by 9.9% on Oct. 10

- Electricity exports amount to 15,948 megawatt-hours, while imports total 14,296 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption fell by 9.9% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 746,661 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 35,243 megawatt-hours at 20.00 local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,742 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time (0500 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 748,351 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 9.7% drop from Saturday.

Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 40.4% of total electricity consumption and lignite plants contributed 16.1% while imported coal plants comprised 9.1%.

On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 15,948 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 14,296 megawatt-hours.
