Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.89% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 875,739 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,694 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,180 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 878,923 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 1.25% decrease from Thursday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 32.23% of total electricity consumption, wind plants contributed 16.46% while lignite plants comprised 14.54%.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,752 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 8,828 megawatt-hours.
