Turkey's daily electricity consumption fell by 0.22% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 862,345 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,591 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,750 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 865,347 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 0.85% drop from Thursday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 43.9% of total electricity consumption and lignite plants contributed 12.9%.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 14,658 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 11,736 megawatt-hours.
