Turkey's daily electricity consumption fell by 0.22% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 871,369 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,137 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,910 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 879,463 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 0.20% drop from Tuesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 38.8% of total electricity consumption, lignite plants contributed 14% while wind plants comprised 12.5%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 15,620 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 7,720 megawatt-hours.
