Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased on Sunday by 9.9% compared to the previous day to reach 793,395 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 38,336 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,934 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 792,505 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 10% decrease compared to the previous day.
While electricity production from imported coal constituted 25.62% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Sunday, natural gas plants held a 25.28% share while wind plants comprised 13.56%.
On Sunday Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 3,083 megawatt-hours while imports reached 3,973 megawatt-hours.
