Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 9.74% to 755,600 megawatt-hours on Saturday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 36,069 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,922 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 746,886 megawatt-hours on Saturday with a 9.91% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 216,957 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and natural gas plants followed with 153,431 megawatt-hours and 103,529 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 5,056 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 13,770 megawatt-hours.
