Turkey's daily power consumption down 9.5% on July 12

- Turkey's electricity exports amount to 2,581 megawatt-hours, while imports total 10,256 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 9.5% to 779,749 megawatt-hours on Sunday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 22.00 local time with 37,410 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,996 megawatt-hours at local time 08.00.

Electricity production totaled 772,074 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 9.8% decrease compared to the previous day.

While electricity production from imported coal constituted 22.53% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Sunday, natural gas held a share of 18.05% and the share from hydroelectricity power plants amounted to 17.83%.

On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 2,581 megawatt-hours, while imports reached 10,256 megawatt-hours.
