Turkey's daily power consumption down 9.45% on May 1

- Electricity exports amount to 10,897 megawatt-hours, while imports total 6,258 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 9.45% on Saturday compared to the previous day to reach 762,328 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday at 10.00 local time.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time, reaching 34,581 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,276 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 767,117 megawatt-hours on Saturday marking a 9.53% decrease from Friday.

Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 24.2% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectricity power plants comprised 15.1%, while lignite plants held a 14.4% share.

On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,897 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 6,258 megawatt-hours.
