Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 9.4% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 749,932 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 35,041 megawatt-hours at 20.00 local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,629 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 751,192 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 9.3% drop compared to Saturday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 46.5% of total electricity consumption and lignite plants contributed 15.9% while imported coal plants comprised 8.1%.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 16,237 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 15,112 megawatt-hours.
