Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 9.4% on Sunday compared to the previous day, reaching 745,590 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 22.00 local time at 34,224 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,273 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 746,209 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 9.8% decrease from Saturday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 31.6% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants comprised 15.7%, while lignite plants held a 14.5% share.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,733 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 10,377 megawatt-hours.
