Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 9.4% to 664,474 megawatt-hours on Sunday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 22.00 local time with 31,915 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 23,576 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 653,980 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking an 9.6% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from imported coal plants at 181,908 megawatt-hours. Hydroelectricity and lignite plants followed with 132,325 megawatt-hours and 127,337 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 954 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 11,448 megawatt-hours.
