Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased on Sunday by 9.39% compared to the previous day to reach 814,462 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 38,506 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,433 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 807,539 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 9.58% decrease compared to the previous day.
While electricity production from natural gas constituted 24.75% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Sunday, important coal held a share of 22.32% and the share of hydroelectricity power plants was 15.79%.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,453 megawatt-hours, while imports reached 3,531 megawatt-hours.
