Turkey's daily power consumption down 9.2% on Feb. 21

- Electricity exports amount to 6,354 megawatt-hours, while imports total 4,222 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 9.2% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 786,736 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday at 10.00 local time.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time, reaching 37,197 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,526 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 788,981 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 9.6% decrease from Saturday.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 27.1% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants comprised 24.3%, while lignite power plants held a 13.7% share.

On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,354 megawatt-hours, while imports total 4,222 megawatt-hours.
