Turkey's daily power consumption down 9.1% on March 7

- Electricity exports amount to 9,161 megawatt-hours, while imports total 2,276 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 9.11% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 779,698 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday at 10.00 local time.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time, reaching 36,658 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,583 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 786,790 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 9% decrease from Saturday.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 25.1% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants comprised 21%, while lignite power plants held a 14.3% share.

On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,161 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 2,276 megawatt-hours.
