Turkey's daily power consumption down 9.01% on April 18

- Electricity exports amount to 10,945 megawatt-hours, while imports total 1,625 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 9.01% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 753,170 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday at 10.00 local time.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time, reaching 34,643 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 25,874 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 762,600 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 8.72% decrease from Saturday.

Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 18.3% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectricity power plants comprised 15.4%, while lignite plants held a 14.9% share.

On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,945 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 1,625 megawatt-hours.
