Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 8.92% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 793,027 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 37,486 megawatt-hours at 20.00 local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,110 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 799,135 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 9.03% decrease from Saturday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 41% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 16% while lignite plants comprised 15.7%.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 16,803 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 10,852 megawatt-hours.
