Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 8.58% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 780,007 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time, reaching 36,512 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,445 megawatt-hours at 09.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 782,000 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 8.71% decrease from Saturday.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 25.92% of total electricity consumption, wind energy power plants held a 21.31% share, while imported coal plants comprised 18.95%.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 3,764 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 1,845 megawatt-hours.
