Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 8.5% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 742,793 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 22.00 local time, reaching 34,243 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,210 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 742,080 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 8.84% decrease from Saturday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 28.1% of total electricity consumption, lignite power plants comprised 15.4%, while imported coal plants held a 15% share.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,421 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 11,196 megawatt-hours.
