Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 8.5% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 751,389 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time, reaching 35,955 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,914 megawatt-hours at 09.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 762,283 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 8.4% decrease compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 27.95% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 25.39% share while lignite plants comprised 14.85%.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,087 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 192 megawatt-hours.
