Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 8.02% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 968,686 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,707 megawatt-hours at 16.00 local time (1300 GMT) on Tuesday, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage was at its lowest at 34,418 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 978,095 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 8.07% decrease from Saturday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 37.6% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 17.6% while lignite plants comprised 12.2%.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 14,942 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 5,705 megawatt-hours.
