Turkey's daily power consumption down 7.99% on April 23

- Electricity exports amount to 10,849 megawatt-hours, while imports total 7,072 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 7.99% on Friday compared to the previous day to reach 793,649 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday at 10.00 local time.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time, reaching 35,614 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,451 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 797,428 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 7.98% decrease from Thursday.

Turkey's electricity production from hydroelectricity power plants constituted 24% of total electricity consumption, natural gas plants comprised 23.3%, while run-of-the-river plants held a 14.2% share.

On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,849 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 7,072 megawatt-hours.
