Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 7.8% on Saturday compared to the previous day to reach 863,095 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 14.00 local time, reaching 40,659 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,384 megawatt-hours at 06.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 870,025 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 7.7% decrease from Friday.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 30.1% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 20.4% share, while wind energy power plants comprised 14%.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 7,864 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 941 megawatt-hours.
