Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 7.5% to 761,182 megawatt-hours on Sunday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time with 36,673 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest point of 26,855 megawatt-hours at 05.00.
Total electricity production reached 754,543 megawatt-hours on Sunday, with a 7.6% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from imported coal plants totaling 184,166 megawatt-hours.
Lignite and natural gas plants followed with 144,599 megawatt-hours and 118,986 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,133 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 12,772 megawatt-hours.
