Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 7.45% to 654,307 megawatt-hours on Saturday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 31,788 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 22,835 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 655,261 megawatt-hours on Saturday with a 7.3% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 207,433 megawatt-hours. Run-of-river hydroelectricity and lignite plants followed with 112,757 megawatt-hours and 92,866 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 5,498 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 4,453 megawatt-hours.
