Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 7.3% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 758,092 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time, reaching 35,888 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,312 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 763,582 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 7.6% decrease from Saturday.
While Turkey's electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 21% of total electricity consumption, natural gas plants comprised 18.4%, while wind power plans held a 16.8% share.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 7,907 megawatt-hours, while imports total 2,472 megawatt-hours.
