Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 6.6% on Saturday compared to the previous day to reach 854,160 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 15.00 local time, reaching 39,997 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,052 megawatt-hours at 06.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 858,331 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 6.4% decrease from Friday.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 34.2% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held 18.6%, while hydroelectric power plants comprised 12.4%.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 4,434 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 344 megawatt-hours.
