Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 6.3% on Saturday compared to the previous day, reaching 985,960 megawatt-hours according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 46,408 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time on Saturday, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage was lowest at 34,299 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 997,020 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 6.2% decrease from Friday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 37.6% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 15.2% share while hydroelectricity power plants comprised 13.7%.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 15,776 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 4,866 megawatt-hours.
