Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 6.18% on Saturday compared to the previous day to reach 880,110 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Electricity production reached 883,253 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 6.36% decrease compared to the previous day.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 41,117 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,763 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
While electricity production from natural gas constituted 27.15% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Saturday, imported coal plants held a 22.88% share while hydroelectricity plants comprised 15.22%.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,922 megawatt-hours while imports reached 7,779 megawatt-hours.
