Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 6% on Saturday compared to the previous day to reach 815,295 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time, reaching 39,082 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,845 megawatt-hours at 06.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 827,685 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 5.7% decrease compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 36.11% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 24.26% share while local coal plants comprised 13.99%.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 12,538 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 149 megawatt-hours.
