Turkey's daily power consumption down 5.9% on Oct. 29

- Electricity exports amount to 9,660 megawatt-hours and imports total 9,494 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 5.97% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 807,860 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 37,598 megawatt-hours at 19.00 local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,395 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 808,189 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 5.93% decrease compared to Thursday.

Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 40.7% of total electricity consumption and lignite plants contributed 13.8% while imported coal energy plants comprised 10.4%.

On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,660 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 9,494 megawatt-hours.
