Turkey's daily power consumption down 5.76% on March 13

- Electricity exports amount to 8,067 megawatt-hours, while imports total 1,411 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 5.76% on Saturday compared to the previous day to reach 856,579 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday at 10.00 local time.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 40,225 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,731 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 863,248 megawatt-hours on Saturday marking a 5.46% decrease from Friday.

Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 33.4% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectricity power plants comprised 17.7%, while imported coal plants held a 16.3% share.

On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,067 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 1,411 megawatt-hours.
