Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 5.72% on Saturday compared to the previous day to reach 820,434 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time, reaching 38,823 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,688 megawatt-hours at 06.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 831,318 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 5.65% decrease compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 29.66% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 23.83% share while wind plants comprised 16.56%.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 12,139 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 1,255 megawatt-hours.
