Turkey's daily power consumption down 5.61% on Sept. 19

- Electricity exports amount to 8,168 megawatt-hours while imports reach 899 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 5.61% on Saturday compared to the previous day to reach 896,589 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 39,605 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,367 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.

Electricity production reached 853,596 megawatt-hours on Saturday marking a 5.47% decrease compared to the previous day.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 29.90% of total electricity consumption on Saturday, imported coal plants held a 23.05% share while wind plants comprised 13.63%.

On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,188 megawatt-hours while imports reached 899 megawatt-hours.
