Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 5.6% to 722,556 megawatt-hours on Saturday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 22.00 local time with 33,167 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 25,399 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 710,521 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 5.3% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from imported coal plants at 175,229 megawatt-hours. Lignite and hydroelectricity plants followed with 137,369 megawatt-hours and 134,597 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 1,197 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 13,232 megawatt-hours.
