Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 5.6% on Saturday compared to the previous day to reach 821,426 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 08.00 local time, reaching 37,751 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,641 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 826,891 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 5.2% decrease from Friday.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas power plants constituted 26.4% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 24.4% share, while lignite plants comprised 14.1%.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,151 megawatt-hours, while imports total 4,693 megawatt-hours.
