Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 5.41% to 712,606 megawatt-hours on Saturday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 33,832 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 24,873 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 707,633 megawatt-hours on Saturday with a 5.57% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 222,779 megawatt-hours. Run-of-river hydroelectricity and imported coal plants followed with 115,500 megawatt-hours and 111,324 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,892 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 11,865 megawatt-hours.
