Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased on Saturday by 5.36% compared to the previous day to reach 879,333 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 40,906 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,439 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 880,007 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 5.61% decrease compared to the previous day.
While electricity production from natural gas constituted 27.10% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Saturday, hydroelectricity power plants held a share of 16.21% and the share of imported coal was 23.11%.
On Saturday Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 4,811 megawatt-hours while imports reached 4,137 megawatt-hours.
