Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 5.1% on Saturday compared to the previous day to reach 854,564 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 39,720 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,795 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 863,153 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 4.8% decrease from Friday.
Turkey's electricity production from hydroelectricity power plants constituted 22% of total electricity consumption, lignite plants comprised 14%, while natural gas power plants held a 13.6% share.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,460 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 2,954 megawatt-hours.
