Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 5.07% on Saturday compared to the previous day to reach 785,491 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time reaching 37,669 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,302 megawatt-hours at 04.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 795,684 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 5.03% decrease compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 27.04% of total electricity consumption on Saturday, imported coal plants held a 22.98% share while wind plants comprised 17%.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,891 megawatt-hours while imports totaled 698 megawatt-hours.
