Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 5.07% to 772,446 megawatt-hours on Saturday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 35,985 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,589 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 766,611megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 5.08% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from imported coal plants at 186,186 megawatt-hours. Lignite and hydroelectricity and plants followed with 129,417 megawatt-hours and 128,268 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 3,617 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 9,452 megawatt-hours.
