Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 5.06% to 558.203 megawatt-hours on Sunday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 29,063 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 18,066 megawatt-hours at 10.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 555,157 megawatt-hours on Saturday with a 4.99% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 186,809 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and run-of-river plants followed with 99,972 megawatt-hours and 95,787 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 4,818megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 7,873 megawatt-hours.
