Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 5.04% on Saturday compared to the previous day to reach 874,493 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 44,686 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,852 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 891,720 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 4.61% decrease from Friday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 35% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectricity power plants comprised 15.07%, while imported coal plants held a 15.21% share.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 17,741 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 3,626 megawatt-hours.
