Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 5% on Saturday compared to the previous day, reaching 823,193 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time at 38,529 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,283 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 826,929 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 5% decrease from Friday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 33.9% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectricity plants comprised 14.7%, while imported coal plants held a 14.2% share.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 12,667 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 9,072 megawatt-hours.
