Turkey's daily power consumption down 4% on Oct. 24

- Electricity exports amount to 12,590 megawatt-hours while imports reach 1,277 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 4% on Saturday compared to the previous day to reach 755,379 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time with 36,263 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,681 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production reached 766,692 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 3.97% decrease compared to the previous day.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 34,26% of total electricity consumption on Saturday, imported coal plants held a 23,89% share while lignite plants comprised 15.02%.

On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 12,590 megawatt-hours while imports reached 1,277 megawatt-hours.
