Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 3.73% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 733,844 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time, reaching 34,265 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 24,834 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 736,758 megawatt-hours on Sunday marking a 3.95% decrease from Saturday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 21.1% of total electricity consumption, lignite power plants comprised 14.6%, while hydroelectricity plants held a 14.4% share.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,516 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 5,936 megawatt-hours.
