Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 3.7 % to 823,488 megawatt-hours on Saturday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time with 38,668 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest point of 28,325 megawatt-hours at 05.00.
Total electricity production reached 816,609 megawatt-hours on Saturday, with a 3.8% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from natural gas plants totaling 195,696 megawatt-hours.
Imported coal and hydroelectricity plants followed with 192,207 megawatt-hours and 141,796 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 4,591 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 11,471 megawatt-hours.
